is it any good?

Gina Matchitt, Patikitiki I and II (detail) 2007, recycled computer keys on board
From object magzine
Photo: Michael roth
its a black and wight image of hundreds of old keys from recycled keyboards glued into a repetition patern onto boards. The compostion of the keys has a message in the form of "Tukutuku pattering" normaly thay are ornamental panels often woven. Apart from looking very nice thay also have a symbolic meaning of people, places, histories and experiences.
like carvings thay are a mode of communication linking the past to the presant and the future. Insted of useing traditional material shes decided to use a more modern approach and uses key boards, becuse now we live in a more digital world.
